Day 12: Great Harvest

Great Harvest PDX, located at the corner of 2nd and Yamhill in downtown Portland, is locally owned and operated and has been a staple in the downtown community for over 35 years. Our amazing crew strives to provide exceptional customer service and is known for baking phenomenal breads, pastries, and cookies, in addition to homemade soups and delicious sandwiches. We love our downtown community and support many organizations through food donations such as Outside In, Blanchet House, Urban Gleaners, and Street Roots. In a struggling effort to keep our doors open during the Covid-19 pandemic, we have trimmed our production, hours, and staff but are determined to succeed. We’re cleaning diligently, requiring social distancing, and operating on a take-out only platform, but we’re still here!

About the artist

Alejo Siegert is a stop-motion producer and artist based in Portland, Oregon. Originally from the Caribbean region of Colombia, Alejo likes to bring his warm and tropical stories to life through puppet making and writing. During his studies in animation and filmmaking Alejo has produced multiple festival award winning shorts as well as having made really cute, felted puppets. Now, Alejo writes stories while working as a puppet wrangler for an upcoming Netlfix stop-motion project.
