Day 10: Addy's Sandwich Bar!
Addy’s Sandwich Bar started as a food cart in 2009 in the Alder St. food cart pod with the goal of providing quick, simple, quality baguette sandwiches. They offered a small menu of sandwiches, all on Little T Baker shorty baguettes. In 2013 Addy’s sold the food cart and moved into 911 SW 10th Ave. Now, with an amazing staff of five, they offer an expanded menu that includes power salads, panini sandwiches, homemade soups, leafy green salads, smoothies and a few sweets. They use simple ingredients, consciously raised meat and artisan bread to prepare creative combinations at fair prices for busy downtown lunchers.
Addy’s prepares free meals for people in need via multiple Portland non-profits through their lunch donation program, funded by customers who choose Donate-a-Meal with their online orders. Since March of 2020 they’ve transitioned to take-out and delivery only, and developed an online store that makes it easy to order ahead for quick, contactless pickup. About the artist
Hi! My name is Tamea Mitchell. I was born and raised in Northeast Portland. I've always been a creative and musically inclined person. I got into painting at the age of 14 at my middle school Trinity Lutheran, and I have to give props to my art teacher Ms. Rawls because she inspired me to keep painting and capturing my art. My work so far has been paintings of plus-size Black women. As a plus-size person I never saw paintings or drawings that looked like me so I decided to make it happen so that other little girls and women who are like me have something they can connect with. I am a freshman this year at Oregon State University majoring in Pre-Graphic Design. I like to paint and create in general; I also do commission pieces.
